Where are the best locations to take senior pictures in Pismo Beach?
Summer is the perfect time to have your child’s Pismo Beach senior portraits taken. The area give you a bunch of great options for every personality. If you are looking for a photographer, it’s best to book me early so you don’t miss your child’s yearbook submittal deadline which depending on the school, starts in late September, early October.
For those that love the beach and would also like to explore the famous Dinosaur Caves; the beach below Sea Crest is perfect during low-tide. You’ll have to time it just right, because at high tide the caves are underwater. Also, there is no parking at Sea Crest.. Another great location for Pismo Beach senior pictures is where the trees meet the beach at the Monarch Butterfly Grove. This location works best for evening sessions and really gives you a great variety of scenery and backdrops. If you book with me, I like to start with half the session in the trees and then take a short walk to the ocean. It’s like getting two locations in one setting and the backgrounds are just great.
Downtown Pismo Beach can be a lot of fun for a weekday session with lots of color. Under the Pier is fun too with more subtile tones, here is an example showing this unique location. FYI I do not recommend trying this one during the weekend because there is simply too many people walking by. Constantly stopping to let someone walk by can really chip away at your session time and flow.
Close by Pismo there are a few other amazing locations. It’s hard to beat taking Shell Beach senior pictures especially during low-tide. You have the beach as the background, but also some beautiful rock walls, kelp, and tide pools options. It’s funny that at this location I am often photo-bombed by seals and sea otters. Please note this location may not work for everyone since there are steep stairs to get down to the beach.
