Montana de Oro engagement session at sunset

Montana de Oro + in love couples make for the best photos!!!! When couples schedule my photography for engagement sessions, I provide an amazing list of cool romantic locations to chose from. Half of all couples pick Montana de Oro and I’m always happy when they do. It feels like home to me and I love the feel of this place throughout the year. In the Fall, the colors are warm and rich which is my favorite.

Ryan and Emma are an amazing couple. They started planning their wedding hours after getting engaged. They both love the outdoors and the coastline so it literally took minutes for them to decide Ragged Point near Big Sur, CA is where they should get married. Emma and Ryan chose Montana de Oro for their engagement session and it really fit their personalities. If you have read my blog, you can see that I do a lot of sessions on this beach. I cannot wait to capture their spring wedding.

It is so important to do an engagement photo session with your wedding photographer. Why? For 3 reasons. First, it gets you comfortable being professionally photographed and hopefully more relaxed and natural for the wedding day. If you look uncomfortable in your photos, it will show. Second, you get to know your photographer and their style better before the big day. You don’t want a stranger showing up on your wedding day to capture intimate moments with the closest people in your life. Third, it sets the tone for your wedding. Most couple use engagement photos for Save the Dates and social media. This gives you the opportunity to showcase your personality and uniqueness. Most people save the cards they get for the Save the Dates.

How do you want your engagement session to look? soft and romantic? fun and adventurous? modern and sophisticated?
